Posts

A post is up to 2000 characters of text. You can attach up to four images from your photo library or camera, and the first link you type unfurls into a preview card (remove it with the X if you don't want it).

Posts are published to every server your identity uses, signed by your keys. No single server can alter them or take them away from your audience.

Replies and quotes

Every post can be replied to, and threads keep the conversation together. You can also quote a post to share it with your own comment on top.

Posts from other apps

Polycentric is an open network, so posts can come from applications other than Harbor. When they do, the post shows "Posted with" and the name of the app above the text. If the app publishes a website, the name links to it.

URLs in a post are tappable. Mention someone by typing their alias (@[email protected]) or their full identity key; mentions link to their profile.

Deleting a post

Open the "…" menu on your own post and choose delete. Clients stop showing the post. Posts can't be edited after publishing, so delete and repost if you need to change something.
